| Atlanta 1 presents... Note: The screenshots have a much more beautiful texture to them in full-size, but for sake of the forum I've resized them to 890px. You guys are going to kill me for sticking to this name. >.> Front "door". Anyway, this settlement was constructed, depending on time zone, during the late night of October 10 and early morning of the 11th. Most of us agreed that it happened to be rather different from our previous settlements. Alas, it was a very interesting experience. We had chosen the location at 127:127:S, the corner of three pyrosphere sectors. We denoted the actual corner with the raised, max-height, tree platform, as clearly seen from the outside of the base. It was right in the center. The location was already decorated with some beautiful stairs and archways: Oh dear, it appears that you are limited to 4 images per post. Here comes the post train!

Our base was divided into two main levels: A bottom floor for tokens and the monolith, and a higher park-like area. It was beautiful. Tokens: A small haven between the two levels: Down on the lower level, someone had built a house for a map room. It was a beautiful landmark for the base. Later someone added a "well" with an exploding rooftop. Exploding roof:

| Here are some people working on the well: Our power situation became sort of haphazard. Sure, we had enough power to support a decent force field, but it wasn't very organized.

| Around the top of the wall lay a relay circuit, as detailed in the etiquette thread. By the end of the morning, when nearly everyone had left, I decided to exploit the last of the power we had siphoned and created a crisscrossing power grid through the base: Here's a brief view of a portion of the base from the top of the treedong: Oh boy, here's the end of the Treedong settlement thread. I'd post a list of names of who contributed, however, I've forgotten so many of you that I wouldn't want to insult anyone by leaving them out. Feel free to take credit for what you did. Metropia, over and out!

Aw, the settlement's dead now? I don't remember the well or the tree, but I sure helped with the the Relay walls. The power manufacturing in the hayday was wonderful. But whoever placed that shield generator... Fun times! Ben |

Yea, that was a lot of fun. I logged on this morning at about 10am and the AI was shelling the crap out of it, wish I had taken some screenshots.

The city was still there Sunday morning EST time. It was heavily damaged and not much remained of the base. However we built it back up while facing stiff AI resistance. At one point we had no radio and no proximity sensors. However we had one old proximity sensor still alive. We placed explosives all keyed to isson and then put the keyword of isson in the proximity sensor. We had one person stand by it until we could get some better defenses built. (Putting the isson keyword by the proximity sensor made it say isson every time to set the explosives off.) We had problems with the forcefield because at full power it covered the power reactor and a power well. We resolved this by putting the forcefield high in the air so that it created a bubble over the base. (The power reactor and power well where really close to the monolith and a lot of key tokens that we didn't want to lose.) When I logged in about the only thing still standing was the walls, power manufacturing, and map house. The servers must have reset later that day because when I logged on around 11pm est there was two settlements and neither one was the original base. |

Real pretty. Why "Treedong" btw? I mean, I get the tree and all, but where's the dong come from? :P |
