Tried that, no luck. I realize it is an alpha, but I'm hoping this downtime does not subtract from the total amount of days I can log on if there are going to be server issues for most of the month. ============= Re-reg'd and I'm back in, though it seems I got a different name now...at least it works. Is the server currently down, or am I the only one who can't get in?

I haven't been able to ping Atl1 (or 2 either) for the last couple days. My code ran out anyway, I figure I'll re-up once I can reconnect. No big either way. LOVE itself is in alpha, so Eskil gives free access, and gets free alpha testing, but if people are paying for servers they should be up. I don't think anyone is expecting full 99.9% uptime (I'm certainly not), but I'm not sure whats going on with the datacenters, are they crashing and not restarting? Or are there other issues? AND NOONE WILL EVER KNOW BECAUSE TOKYO SWALLOWED ESKIL!!! EVERYONE PANIC!!! Eskil, watch out for Godzilla and ganguro! Anyhoo, resetting servers at different points might help. I've noticed a few world-bridges (as opposed to AI built bridges) that tend to vary, and various low islands in water with NO access besides jumping down or the water. Getting out of water (say, with a token) is a pain, or outright impossible sometimes. Shorter resets might help to identify procedural stuff? I dunno, I'm not the programmer here. That, and long sessions start getting the weird issues- like the chewed terrain that I suspect is due to either weird AI bases that aren't behaving properly, or AI artillery spam that doesn't quite reach the intended target (but gets fired off like crazy anyway.) Eventually the AI rebuilds a base within artillery rage and pop goes the monolith, as far as I can tell. Last edited by Smoo; 11-12-2009 at 08:46 AM. |

As this thread hasn't been posted in, for about four days, I'd like to ask about the server status. I just bought into the beta, and I've been trying to get in since about 12 hours ago, and it's consistently giving me a, "Server is updating" message. Since I literally JUST downloaded (And redownloaded) the client about 12 (and 8) hours ago, I doubt it's out of date. Is the server down, and does anyone know when it will be back up? |

There's a bug in the client that forces you to quit and restart before server changes take effect. So for example if ATL2 is down*, and you switch to ATL1 and try to connect, it's going to appear as if ATL1 is down as well. But in fact the game is still trying to connect to ATL2. The stop-gap solution is to switch servers, exit the client, restart the client, and then connect to the new server. This issue is confusing a lot of people. I don't know how we can make this more obvious to new players, maybe Cyborg can sticky it on the front page somehow. Airman, Let us know if this works! *I think this is actually the case, I started on ATL2 and haven't been able to connect to that server since last week. |

The server has been down for me around midday I think, but it was up yesterday. Anyone else have it down? Some news announcement about this that I missed? Sorry, I just wanted to play, I had just signed up yesterday.

Which server Gonhead? I was on ATL2 and UK1 briefly this morning, everything seems to be working ok. Also don't expect "news announcements" when servers are down, Eskil doesn't roll that way.

I wasn't one to complain about this during the beta, but random server outages are not cool at all when I'm paying $15 a month to play this game. At very least there should be some explanation from the developer to his paying customers as to why the server is down and when we can expect it to be back up, allowing us to play the game we paid for.

Zex, I know what you mean, but you're not losing any game time when the server is down, so while it is undeniably frustrating, Eskil isn't cheating you.
